About Marjorie

I've been a student of leadership most of my life: Saturday mornings listening to Everyone's a Coach with my dad, a middle-school copy of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens signed by Sean Covey. That curiosity about how people align, lead, and work well together became three degrees in communication and eight years teaching in higher education.

Along the way I've worked for great leaders and high-functioning teams. I've also hit the moments where I felt stuck, the team wasn't aligned, and the organization had more in it than it was showing.

Much of my coaching started before I had the title. I've coached peers through hard conversations and career decisions, helped leaders think through how to bring a team along, and learned to manage up as well as lead. In recent years, leadership development became a central part of my work.

That's why Unmired Consulting exists. Stronger leadership and communication build forward momentum, and coaching leaders at every level, not just managers, moves everyone forward.
